Submissions
Submission Guidelines:

If you have any issues with form submission, we will still accept submissions via submissions@necksnapmag.com as needed.
General Guidelines:
- 12-point, any serif font (Garamond, Times New Roman, Georgia, etc.), double-spaced preferred.
- PDF or Microsoft Word documents (.doc/.docx) only. We accept .rtf files if necessary.
- Up to five micro or flash pieces allowed per submission, or two short stories.
- We now take submissions via our form submitter below, rather than email submissions. If you have any issues with the form, we will still accept submissions via submissions@necksnapmag.com as needed.
- Simultaneous submissions allowed, but do let us know if your work is accepted elsewhere!
- Previously published material allowed if it is no longer in print or otherwise available via another publisher. Please do not submit work that is currently published on social media, personal blogs, or other self-publishing avenues.
- Submissions are 100% free. No reader fee or submission fee required. Add-ons are available if you’d like to purchase an expedited response, additional editorial feedback, or throw us a tip.
- We offer a $5 honorarium per contributor. *Payments are made via Paypal only.* (Donate or become a monthly subscriber on our Ko-Fi to help us maintain our honorarium fund!)
- Please allow up to three months to hear back about a submission if you have not paid for an expedited response, although we will typically reach out sooner than that.
Word Counts:
- Short Stories: 1,000-5,000 words
- Flash Fiction: Up to 1,000 words
- Micro Fiction/Poetry: Up to 200 words
Rights:
We ask for first electronic rights. Rights will then revert back to the author, but we will ask for archival rights for our online archive. For print publications, we will ask for first North American serial rights.
